She is currently using her considerable skills to help CCBA gain a better understanding of the efficacy of the Mighty Mite Killer Thermal Treatment through research and data.

VICE PRESIDENT

James Fogleman

James is a lifelong resident of Chatham County. He has kept bees since 2009 and has been a member of the CCBA since 2019. Dennis Brown Profile

DIRECTOR

Dennis Brown

Dennis was born at Fort Bragg, NC, and came back to live in Lee County after his father retired from the US Navy. He has been keeping bees for 5 years. While he has had an interest in beekeeping for many years, it was his granddaughter who finally pushed him into starting!

DIRECTOR

MaryBeth Crissman

MaryBeth Crissman grew up in Upstate New York and moved south to North Carolina 16 years ago. She has lived in Pittsboro with her family for 7 years, and she’s a first-year beekeeper. She currently has four hives and hopes to expand in the coming year. When she’s not toiling in the bee yard or worrying about what tricks her bees will play on her next, she’s a mother to a precocious 6-year-old boy (who also shares her love for the bees) and works in educational software, leading a team in the development and marketing of an online writing tool. She enjoys quilling and gardening and having new adventures with her family.

DIRECTOR

Andrew is originally from Minnesota. He has lived in NC since 2006 and Chatham County since 2009. He works for Dominion Energy. He joined the CCBA in 2018 and has kept bees since 2019.  He currently has four hives. Andrew enjoys gardening and loves outdoor pursuits such as hiking, camping, and mountain biking.
