Jody has been involved with CCBA for five years.In 2000, with no experience but lots of curiosity, Jody ordered a package of bees out of the back of a magazine. He started his beekeeping journey with a 3-pound package of “3 Banded Italian Bees” from Georgia delivered by US Mail. |

| After a decade of beekeeping, in 2010, Jody moved three hives in Pittsboro to 15 acres near the banks of the scenic Rocky River in beautiful Chatham County, North Carolina and the Rocky River Bee Farm was born. |  |

By 2017, Jody had multiple hives in four locations and was awarded his Master Beekeeper Award. Rocky River Bee Farm keeps bees naturally, using IPM techniques and only soft chemicals for mite treatments. He raises queens from his own selected stock, working to develop a healthy, mite-resistant strain that thrives in the Central North Carolina climate. | |
